It was meant to be a romantic evening on the Kenyan coast. Musician Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, were enjoying a sundowner at the new Bamburi Beach.

However, the atmosphere turned tense. A conversation about cosmetic surgery and body modifications left Bahati describing the evening as "uncomfortable."

A Slippery Slope

The dispute began over Diana’s recent decision to get dental braces. Bahati admitted he is struggling to accept the change. He told his wife that he preferred her original smile.

Bahati expressed a deeper fear during their holiday. He suggested that minor changes often lead to more drastic ones.

He warned Diana that once she begins "aligning" her features, she might never stop.

"When you start this journey of doing things to your body, you cannot recreate yourself. You are not God,Bahati said.

Bahati worried that once Diana starts the body enhancements, she will never stop.

“I told you when you start aligning things, the next thing you'll align is your hug. The next thing you align your nose, then fake breasts and even BBL. I hear those BBL do smell in bed, just know that,he warned.

Family Opposition

This exchange follows public comments from the couple's eldest son, Morgan. Weeks ago, Morgan revealed that Diana was planning a series of major surgeries. These included a breast lift, liposuction, and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

Morgan was blunt in his disapproval. He told his mother that she would end up looking like "plastic."

He argued that the family already provides her with the best support by appreciating her natural appearance.

Morgan also claimed that Bahati shares his concerns. He stated that his father’s main objection to the BBL is the fear that Diana is trying to "turn herself into plastic".

During the coastal vacation, Bahati echoed these sentiments. He questioned why Diana felt the need to add "components" to her body. He suggested that she was moving away from the person he originally fell in love with.

“I liked your teeth the way they were. So, if you align your teeth, just know now you'll be having what I don't love. When we met, we all had un-aligned teeth,he reminded her.

Personal Choice vs. Family Consensus

Diana has defended her plans. She insists her motivations are personal. She told Bahati that he’s not aware what goes through women’s minds.

“You are a guy. You'd never understand what happens in women'sminds.I'm just trying to take care of myself. If I can make my teeth look better, I will. If can make anything in me look better, I will, she concluded.
