Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has finally addressed the long wait for his branded juice line, Freshi Barida. The artist first announced the venture in 2022, promising a launch that July. Four years later, fans are still waiting for the product to hit the shelves.
In an exclusive interview with Mpasho’s Moses Sagwe, the rapper opened up about the hurdles he has faced. He admitted that while the project is stalled, his ambitions for the beverage brand remain unchanged.

The Search for Quality and Sponsors
Stevo Simple Boy rose to fame in 2019 with his hit single "Mihadarati". Since then, he has sought to diversify his income through various business ideas. He explained that the delay in the juice launch stemmed from a need to get the product right.
"I know I promised Kenyans that I was to launch that juice company, but there are some few things I didn’t do right," he told Moses Sagwe. He noted that the dream is "still very much alive" and that he is actively looking for sponsors to help bring the vision to life.
"I want it to be an original brand for Kenyans and one that will excite the whole world,” he added.
The rapper emphasised that he does not want a "copy-paste" product. He insists that the juice must be original and one that meets maximum standards before it reaches the public.
Management Changes Not the Cause
There has been much speculation regarding Stevo’s frequent management changes. Within the timeframe of the proposed launch, he moved from being managed by Chingiboy Mstado to Machabe. Both have since exited his team.
However, the rapper clarified that these shifts did not influence the delay of his business.
He described the juice brand as a "very big project" that he kept separate from his music representatives.

"That was my original idea and it had no association with my previous managers," he stated.
He cautioned that such a project requires trustworthy partners, adding that it doesn't require people who are liars to come in between.
Music and Fashion Outlook
While the juice line is on hold, Stevo has pivoted towards content creation. He explained that music production has become increasingly expensive, particularly the cost of shooting high-quality videos.
Despite these costs, he is preparing for a major milestone. He plans to release a new single followed by his very first full-length album. This will be his first album since his music debut Six years ago.
The rapper also touched on his unique "dragon fashion" style. He hopes to see the trend go viral outside of Kenya once locals fully embrace it.

Regarding his personal life and his recent split from his partner Brenda, he remained tight-lipped, stating he would clarify everything when the time is right.
