The Starlets finished second in the tournament after a 2-0 defeat to the Australia Women’s National Team in the final, capping what has been widely viewed as a historic outing for Kenya in international women’s football.

Despite the loss, the team’s overall performance drew praise from across government and the football fraternity, with many pointing to the result as a major milestone in the growth of the women’s game in the country.

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo also lauded the team, describing their achievement as a breakthrough moment.

“Congratulations to the Harambee Starlets for an outstanding performance at the Women's FIFA Series International Friendlies. Despite today’s 2–0 loss to the Australia Women’s National Team, finishing second in the tournament marks a historic first for Kenya in international football,” Omollo said.

He added that the performance signals Kenya’s rising strength on the global stage and reflects the squad’s potential to compete at higher levels.

The FIFA Series tournament brought together national teams from different confederations, offering Kenya a rare opportunity to test itself against stronger and more experienced sides.

The Starlets impressed throughout the competition, registering strong performances that propelled them to the final.

As the team returns home, attention is likely to turn to preparations, squad development and the support structures needed to sustain their upward trajectory in the global game.
