Kenyan content creator Sabato Sabatoo, better known to his fans as "Sauti ya Ground," has announced a significant shift in his digital career. In a video posted to his Instagram account, the commentator revealed he is stepping away from the controversial content that made him a household name: criticising musicians and public figures.

Sabatoo has built a following by offering blunt, often harsh reviews of the Kenyan entertainment industry. However, he told his followers that the time had come for a new direction.

A Move for Peace of Mind

The creator explained that his decision stems from the overwhelming amount of hate he has encountered online. He expressed a desire to be remembered for his positive contributions rather than his conflicts.

“I’m one person who believes that it’s good when you die, people should remember you for the good deeds. So, I have been receiving a lot of complains from celebrities and people, they think I hate them, but today I have good news;going forward, I will not be doing any content about celebrities,” he stated.

Addressing his audience, Sabatoo noted that he has received numerous complaints from artists who believe his critiques are rooted in personal malice.

He clarified that while he has not received any direct threats to his life, he feels the current atmosphere is becoming dangerous.

"I don't want to be walking one day and then just get shot and die... because I have seen there is too much hate," he said in the video.

Addressing the Critics

Sabatoo also addressed the personal attacks he frequently faces from detractors. He mentioned that critics often label him a "failed artist" or mock his living situation, claiming he lives in a bedsitter.

He shared a darker side to his fame, alleging that some individuals have even wished him death or offered bad prayers against him.

By changing his content, he hopes to distance himself from this toxicity.

"At least now, take me out of your heads," he urged those who have been praying for his downfall.

The "New Chapter": What’s Next?

Despite leaving the world of celebrity gossip and music reviews, Sabatoo insisted he is not retiring from content creation altogether. He cited his education and intelligence as tools that will help him succeed in other niches.

The creator outlined several potential paths for his future content, including:

  • Travel vlogs
  • Driving and lifestyle videos
  • Preaching

He seemed particularly excited about the prospect of travel vlogging, describing it as a "new chapter" for his brand.

While Sabatoo offered an apology to anyone he may have hurt with his previous commentary, he remained firm on his expertise. He admitted that while he could be "wrong about a lot of things," he maintains that his understanding of music is solid.
