Police in Nairobi are investigating a suspected murder after a man who had earlier been assaulted was found dead at his home in Umoja II estate.

The victim, identified as Simon Ng’ang’a Mwangi, was discovered unresponsive after he failed to wake up, with blood oozing from his nose, prompting alarm among family members.

Officers who visited the scene noted an old scar on the left side of his head, raising suspicions over a possible link to a previous assault.

According to relatives, Mwangi had been attacked on February 25, 2026, at Mukuru Kayaba stage in Industrial Area, where he was allegedly struck on the head with a weighing machine by a person known to him.

The incident had been reported at South B Police Station. He was initially treated at Lengo Medical Centre in Mukuru Kayaba before a P3 form was filled out at a Nairobi facility documenting the injuries.
