As the dust from the Vurugu fight settles, a sharp new debate has emerged regarding what the winner, Majembe, should do with his newfound fortune.

While a segment of the public is urging the boxer to resume his education, a prominent businesswoman has sparked a viral conversation by telling him to stay away from the classroom.

Shiquo Wa HiiStyles took to social media to voice her opposition to those advising the fighter to go back to school. Majembe, who defeated Mbavu Destroyer in a highly publicised match, secured a prize of 3.3 million, according to Shiquo.

In a widely shared TikTok video, Shiquo argued that the money Majembe earned is a direct result of his talent in the ring, not academic achievement. She questioned why he would return to a system that did not provide him with the millions he now possesses.

"Majembe, 3.3 million is not something to make you go back to school. Did you get that money from boxing, or did you get it from school?" she questioned.

She further suggested that Majembe has already spent enough time in the education system. Addressing reports that he previously reached Form 2, she claimed that he has effectively "overstudied."

A System for Children

The businesswoman's argument rests on the idea that formal schooling is primarily a tool for child-rearing. She stated that schools are systems where children are taken to grow up into adults.

As Majembe is already a "grown-up," she believes the classroom is no longer the right environment for him.

"School is for raising a child until they reach the level of growing up. Majembe, my friend, the money came from boxing. What are you going to study in school?"

Shiquo went as far as to suggest that advanced education can be counterproductive for some individuals. She claimed that once schooling passes Class Three, it can become confusing.

"Don't Waste Time"

The core of Shiquo’s message was for the boxer to focus on wealth creation while his career is at its peak. She warned him against "wasting time" in an academic setting when he could be capitalising on his current fame and success in the outside world.

"Don’t waste time. You are already a grown-up... Majembe, do not go back to school! You will make a lot of money out here,” she pleaded with him.

Majembe secured the vital win against Mbavu Destroyer via a TKO in a high-octane boxing match that was held on April 4 at Kasarani Arena.

With the win, Majembe secured the Vurugu belt as well as a massive package that includes a car, a sport bike, and over Sh2.5 million in cash.
