Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz has provided a rare, first-hand account of his visit to the Malibu mansionof embattled American mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Speaking during a high-profile interview at the newly relaunched Wasafi FM studios, the artist detailed his time spent at the property and the professional nature of his interaction with the American rapper.
The interview comes at a time of intense global scrutiny for Diddy.

A Night in Malibu
Diamond explained that a close associate, whom he referred to as Swizz Beatz, facilitated his visit, who has been a significant supporter of his international career. The trip took them to Diddy’s private studio in Malibu, where a productive creative atmosphere was already in full swing.
Upon arrival, Diamond observed Diddy’s new artists and other musicians engaged in recording sessions. The Tanzanian star did not just observe; he actively participated in the creative process. He noted that he spent time working on recordings and experimenting with various beats.
"We went to Diddy's Malibu studio. His new artist was recording with other musicians, and he [Swizz Beatz] introduced us,” Diamond narrated.
Family and Fine Dining
Beyond the studio walls, Diamond described a relaxed family environment. After the recording sessions, the group moved to the swimming pool area. It was here that he met Diddy’s children, who were present at the home during the visit.
“We then moved to the swimming pool area, where his kids were. We later had dinner together,” he added.

The evening concluded with a communal dinner. Diamond joined Diddy, the children, and a female and male artist for a meal before departing the premises.

He emphasised that the atmosphere was one of mutual respect, particularly noting the high level of regard between Diddy and his colleagues.
The Code of Professionalism
Addressing why there is little social media footage of the visit, Diamond spoke about the importance of etiquette. He explained that he deliberately avoided filming or taking videos to ensure he did not appear unrefined (a concept he referred to as ushamba).
The singer maintained that showing respect is paramount when being welcomed into someone’s private space. He argued that acting with decorum is essential for maintaining professional relationships at that level of the industry.
"You cannot go to someone's place and start bringing that 'ushamba'—taking videos and all that. It is about respect."
Navigating Modern Scandal
Diamond expressed frustration with how the public often links him to negative stories. He noted that in Tanzania, people frequently try to involve him in controversies in a negative way.

Despite the current "nonsense" surrounding Diddy’s legal situation, Diamond suggested that mature individuals with wisdom often choose to ignore such gossip. He remains focused on his music and his standing as a global ambassador for East African talent.
