Breakup came weeks after birth
Kendi announced the end of her relationship with Tdat on 28 August 2026, saying she had reached the decision after considerable thought.
She explained that she had generally preferred to keep her private affairs away from the public. However, the relationship had attracted considerable attention, particularly after the couple publicly announced their pregnancy.
“After much consideration, I’ve chosen to part ways with Timmy Tdat,” Kendi said in her statement.
She also clarified that the separation extended beyond their romantic relationship, saying she was no longer his wife, girlfriend or business partner.
The announcement came only weeks after the couple welcomed their first child.
Their son was born in July, following a pregnancy that Kendi had publicly celebrated with Tdat in June. The couple’s pregnancy announcement included a maternity photoshoot in which Tdat was seen kissing Kendi’s baby bump.
Kendi stands by Timmy’s paternity
The latest clarification is significant because speculation over the child’s paternity has emerged alongside discussion of the breakup.
Kendi has now made her position clear: the separation should not be interpreted as evidence of a dispute over the child’s biological father.
She insists that Tdat is their son’s father and that DNA questions had nothing to do with the decision to end their relationship.
The clarification also separates two issues that have become intertwined in public discussion — the couple’s romantic relationship and their responsibilities as parents.
Kendi’s earlier statement suggested that, despite the breakup, their son remains an important connection between them.
“Other than our wonderful son, we have absolutely nothing else together,” she previously stated.
A relationship that became public
For much of their relationship, Kendi and Tdat kept their personal lives relatively private.
That changed in 2026 when they confirmed they were expecting a child together. Their pregnancy announcement was followed by Kendi’s reflections on the difficulties she had experienced before successfully carrying the pregnancy to term.
She also revealed that their song “Sita Leave” had been created during a difficult period when the pair were recovering from a previous miscarriage. The track was later released as part of Tdat’s 2026 project.
Their relationship therefore moved from private romance to a highly public chapter involving pregnancy, parenthood and, eventually, separation.
For now, Kendi’s message is that the end of their relationship should not be read as a paternity dispute. Whatever caused the separation, she maintains that Timmy Tdat remains the father of their son.
The two are now entering a different phase of their lives, with their relationship as partners over but their connection through parenthood continuing.
