The mother of one recently shared a heartwarming video on social media, introducing fans to the man she fondly refers to as “my dawa, Mr K.” In the clip, Maribe is visibly smitten, smiling as she speaks about her husband and the intensity of her feelings.

“I am not the girl you get at the end of a movie. I am the scriptwriter, the executive producer, the camera person and the main star. I am the movie. A Mrs K production. I don’t want normal, easy, and simple… I want painful, difficult, devastating, life-changing, extraordinary love.”

A Love Life That Has Played Out in the Public Eye

Maribe’s relationships have often attracted public attention, largely due to her high-profile past. Her most talked-about romance was with Joseph Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, to whom she got engaged in 2018.

The relationship took a dramatic turn following the murder of Monica Kimani, a case that dominated national headlines.

Both Maribe and Jowie were arrested and charged. Maribe was later acquitted, while Jowie was convicted, bringing a close to one of Kenya’s most widely followed criminal cases.

Following that turbulent period, Maribe largely stepped away from the spotlight, focusing on raising her son and rebuilding her personal and professional life.

Over the years, Mpasho has documented her gradual return to public life—from media appearances to brand partnerships and lifestyle updates that signalled a fresh start.

Clearing the Air on Past Speculation

In 2025, Maribe publicly addressed rumours about her relationship status after briefly updating her social media profile to “Mrs,” which sparked speculation about a secret wedding. She clarified at the time that she was single, dismissing the claims and urging the public not to read too much into online cues.

Beyond the Jowie chapter, she has occasionally been linked to other individuals, including a prominent businessman, though she has consistently kept details private.

Reports of connections within media and entertainment circles have also surfaced over the years, but Maribe has rarely confirmed or commented on them.

A New Chapter

Now, with her recent posts, it appears the former Citizen TV journalist has finally found the kind of love she once described—intense, transformative, and deeply personal.

Her openness, though measured, marks a shift from her previously guarded approach to relationships.

While questions remain about the identity of “Mr K,” one thing is clear: Maribe is embracing this new phase with confidence—and this time, she seems determined to enjoy it on her own terms.
