The Gender Equality Report 2026 by GeoPoll highlights several critical areas where citizens in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt expect more decisive action from their governments and organisations.

According to the data, the most urgent priority is improving access to justice, which was cited by seventy-nine per cent of respondents.

This overwhelming consensus indicates that legal protections and the fair application of the law are viewed as the most fundamental requirements for societal progress.

Beyond legal reform, there is a strong call for structural and socio-economic changes.

Sixty-six per cent of participants emphasised the need to expand education and training, while 58 per cent identified increasing women's leadership as a key goal.

Furthermore, the report shows significant concern for the domestic and economic sphere, with 55 per cent of respondents advocating for better work-life balance and caregiving support.

Interestingly, closing pay gaps was cited by 41 per cent, suggesting that while financial equity is important, it is currently preceded by the demand for justice and professional opportunity.
