The school term has officially ended for many students across Kenya. For YouTuber and rapper Diana Marua, the homecoming of her eldest son, Morgan Bahati, brought more than just a break from the classroom.
It brought a stark reminder of how much the world has changed between generations.
Marua took to social media to share her disbelief. She revealed that Morgan’s first priority upon closing school for the April holiday was far removed from the domestic expectations she faced as a child.
Instead of picking up a broom, the teenager had his sights set on the driver's seat.
A New Generation’s Request
According to a recent post on her Instagram account, Morgan returned home with a very specific list of requirements for his break. The young Bahati is reportedly looking for more than just rest. Marua noted that he immediately asked for the car keys.

The request did not stop there. Along with the keys, Morgan requested money and dedicated time to go out and "enjoy life." The rapper expressed her shock at the boldness of the request with a simple, "Wheeeuh."
"Schools are Officially closed and My Boy @morgan_bahati is back home. All he wants is the car keys, some money and time out to enjoy life.”
The Great Generational Divide
The lifestyle creator was quick to contrast her son’s holiday goals with her own upbringing. She reflected on a time when the end of the school term did not signal the start of a social season. Instead, it meant a return to household responsibilities.

Marua recalled that during her youth, she was expected to immediately assist with the family upkeep.
"In this moment of my life, I was going home to help with chores," she shared with her followers. The difference in expectations left her with one clear conclusion: "Times have changed."

Behind the Bahati Family
Diana Marua is one of Kenya’s most influential digital creators. She has amassed millions of followers across Instagram and YouTube. She is married to the award-winning musician Kevin Bahati.
Morgan Bahati holds a special place in the family as the couple's eldest son. He was adopted by Bahati as a young child before the singer met Diana. Over the years, the public has watched Morgan grow up through the family’s reality television appearances and social media updates.
Now a teenager, his request for car keys marks a significant milestone in his transition toward adulthood. He joined Lenana National Senior School at the beginning of 2026.
