Entertainer and content creator Oga Obinna has addressed rumours surrounding his recent car purchase. The popular figure recently unveiled a sleek, black Lexus LX 570. This reveal came just weeks before a major boxing event he is promoting.
The timing of the purchase led some social media users to speculate. They suggested the vehicle was bought using ticket money from the upcoming bout. This match features Mbavu Destroyer against Majembe and is scheduled for 4 April.
Social Media Speculation
Obinna is well-known for his work as a presenter and comedian. He has been heavily involved in the marketing for the April boxing match. When he showed off the high-end SUV, some critics claimed the costs were covered by the event's revenue.

These quotas online argued that the pre-sale funds and sponsorship money provided the capital. Obinna has now moved to set the record straight regarding these financial allegations.
A Challenge to the Critics
In a direct response to bloggers interviewing him, Obinna challenged those questioning his finances to do their homework. He pointed out the significant market value of the vehicle in question.
“I saw some saying that I’ve bought a car using the Majembe Vs. Mbavu Destroyer money, I thought like, do you guys know how much that car is? Yet the money for the boxing match is just Ksh 2 million, really?” Obinna posed.
The entertainer suggested that the sheer cost of the car should be enough to debunk the rumours.

He believes that if people understood the price of a 2016 Lexus LX 570, they would see the claims are unlikely.
“Go and do your research. Look for Lexus 570 2016 model, then check the price and then compare if it tallies with than boxing match money.”
Reflecting on Assumptions
Obinna also spoke about why he believes people are so quick to judge his success. He argued that critics often project their own habits onto others.
"I've seen online most of the time when I mean well for someone and something happens people conclude No, because you would do that," he explained.

He feels that critics assume he would take such actions because they would do the same themselves.
He noted that he often discusses this specific human trait with his family. "The same way I always tell my kids this all the time," he remarked while addressing the situation.
He believes people simply assume he will behave the way they would in his position.
The boxing match between Mbavu Destroyer and Majembe remains a major focus for the promoter. The event is part of a growing trend of celebrity-led sports promotion in the region.
