Excise duty collections in Kenya have posted steady growth over the past five financial years, highlighting improved revenue performance for the government.

Latest data from the National Treasury shows collections rose to Sh223.42 billion in the July–December period of the 2025/26 financial year, up from Sh214.19 billion in 2024/25.

This represents a modest 4.31 percent increase, continuing an upward trend from Sh181.59 billion recorded in 2021/22.

The consistent rise points to enhanced tax administration and sustained consumption levels, even as the government seeks to strengthen domestic revenue mobilisation amid growing fiscal pressures.
