Gachagua also called on authorities responsible for road infrastructure and signage to ensure that safe roads are accessible to all, emphasizing that it should be considered a right rather than a privilege for every road user.

“One life lost, is one too many,” he said.

“May the Almighty God rest the Souls of our Faithful departed in eternal peace.”

He concluded the message with a brief expression of sympathy: “Pole sana.”

The tragic road accident along the Nyeri–Nyahururu road claimed 15 lives.

According to authorities the crash involved a Nissan matatu and a truck ferrying logs. Central Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati said the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

“15 people died on the spot, while others were taken to hospitals,” he said.

Police reports indicate the lorry swerved to avoid cyclists, causing the collision.
