According to the advertisement, the openings cut across job grades 5 to 10, targeting professionals in laboratory sciences, engineering, pharmaceuticals, and office administration.
At the senior administrative level, NQCL is seeking to fill the position of Principal Office Administrator in the CEO’s office at job grade 5, with one vacancy under reference number 1/2026.
Another administrative role, Assistant Office Administrator (CEO’s office), is listed at job grade 7 with one vacancy (Ref No. 2/2026), while the Office Assistant I position is at job grade 10 with one vacancy (Ref No. 3/2026).
In the technical cadre, the laboratory has advertised for a Biomedical Engineer I (Physicochemical Analysis) at job grade 7, with one vacancy (Ref No. 4/2026), alongside a Senior Laboratory Analyst in the same field at job grade 6, also with one vacancy (Ref No. 5/2026). Laboratory analysts form a significant portion of the recruitment.
Four vacancies are available for Laboratory Analyst I (Physicochemical Analysis) at job grade 7 (Ref No. 6/2026), while Laboratory Technologist I in the same field has one vacancy at job grade 8 (Ref No. 7/2026).
Additionally, Laboratory Technician II (Physicochemical Analysis) is listed with one vacancy at job grade 9 (Ref No. 8/2026).
Further, the institution is recruiting a Senior Pharmaceutical Analyst (Medical Devices) at job grade 6 with one vacancy (Ref No. 9/2026), and a Pharmaceutical Analyst I (Medical Devices) at job grade 7, also with one vacancy (Ref No. 10/2026).
In the biologics and vaccines testing category, NQCL has advertised one position for Laboratory Analyst I at job grade 7 (Ref No. 11/2026), and another for Senior Laboratory Analyst at job grade 6 (Ref No. 12/2026).
There are also three vacancies for Pharmaceutical Analyst I (Biologics and Vaccines Testing Analysis) at job grade 7 (Ref No. 13/2026).
The laboratory is further seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Analyst (Sample Management) at job grade 6 with one vacancy (Ref No. 14/2026), and a Laboratory Technologist III (Sample Management) at job grade 9, with six vacancies (Ref No. 15/2026), making it the role with the highest number of openings.
NQCL stated that successful candidates will be engaged on contract terms for a period of one year, with other conditions guided by its approved human resource instruments.
Interested applicants are required to submit both hard copy and soft copy applications.
The application package must include a copy of the national identification card, a duly signed application letter, a curriculum vitae, and copies of relevant academic and professional certificates.
Hard copy applications must be sealed, clearly marked “Confidential,” and indicate the specific job reference number.
These should be addressed to the Acting Chief Executive Officer and delivered to the NQCL offices located at the University of Nairobi, School of Pharmacy Building, 2nd Floor – Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi.
