Kenya Police bullets FC are 90 minutes away from retaining their Kenya Women Premier League title, while their brother team Police FC are four matches shy of clinching their maiden KPL title as the season enters the business end.
In their maiden season Bullets FC clinched the KWPL title unbeaten, finished third in the FKF women cup before crowning it with a runner up slot at the CECAFA Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.
Under the tutelage of Beldine Odemba the police beauties will be seeking to move a step further by winning the CECAFA title this season, after narrowly falling 1-0 to hosts Commercial Bank of Ethiopia 1-0 in Addis Ababa on 29 August 2024.
But first the table toppers have to cross the finish line by forcing at least a draw againsr Trinity Starlets on 25, May in the final game of the season.
A loss to Odemba girls followed by a win by Ulinzi Starlets over Kisumu All Starlets, will see the cops relinquish their title to Ulinzi, who are just two points behind them.
Odemba who doubles up as the women national team Harambee starlets head coach had mathematically won the title last weekend after a 0-0 draw with Vihiga queens.
However, their celebrations were put on ice after Ulinzi who had overcome Kibera soccer 1-0 won their appeal, and were awarded a 2-0 victory and three points by the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee.
This is after Zetech Sparks were found guilty of fielding Bertha Omita who was ineligible during their 2-2 draw in March 8th. The verdict gave Ulinzi a life line by moving to 41 points two shy of bullets who are on 43.
Bullets lost only one match this season falling 4-3 to Zetech on November 10, 2025, and will be out to avoid a banana skin against Trinity, as a loss would see their season go South.
Despite the pressure, Oedema is calm and believes they have a game plan to ensure they gun down Trinity.
“The appeals committee did their job in the board room, and it is now our turn to finish the job on the pitch. We have a very able squad that just need to focus on the price by sticking to our game plan to ensure we retain the title.” Said Odemba.
Meanwhile, their big brotehrs Kenya Police FC are chasing their first ever KPL title and are four matches away from creating their own history.
The law enforcers lead the table with 58 points from 30 matches and will be up against Kakamega Homeboyz this evening, before battling Talanta FC on Saturday. They will face Shabana on the 14 June before winding their season against champions Gor Mahia on June, 22.
The FKF cup winners will need more bullets in their armoury as they can only afford one draw in their remaining fixtures with Tusker who are obly three points behind them breathing heavily behind their neck, while perennial champions KO’gallo are five points behind with a game in hand.
