Record 21 time KPL champions Gor Mahia will not be carried away,  with their  2-0 win over Kenya Police FC on Sunday 10, November 2025 at Nyayo stadium  that propelled them to the top of the FKF premier league table.

KO’gallo's victory over reigning champions  saw them  relegate  Kakamega Homeboyz to second pot after the Ingo side   played to a 1-1 draw with Muranga Seals.

Head coach, Charles Akkanor said they had done their homework well and were well prepared tactically for the champions whom the knew were no push overs. First half goals from Felix Oluoch and Shariff Musa’s were enough to see Gor gun down the law enforcers, also  under new head coachDusan Stojanovic .

“Normally we play 4-3-3 but we changed to but 3-5-2 yesterday in order to put pressure on them and it worked well for us in the first half. We took advantage of their weaknesses and luckily we got an early goal, and we tactically followed instructions  to manage the victory. “ Said Akkonor.

The Ghanaian said Shariff   Musa who crowned the game with a second goal, has played a leading role in recent games and has improved a lot  leading  to his call up to the national team Harambee stars.

“Every game comes with its strategy, we were tactically disciplined and they reverted to long and aerial balls, it destructed us a little bit, but we were leading 2-0 and didn’t need to attack. We controlled could change the game and attack, but we didn’t need to because we were leading 2-0,” Added the tactician
