Kenyan football fans can now grab their tickets ahead of the long awaited CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament that kicks off on August 2 and runs through to August 30.

Ticket sales in Kenya officially begin on Wednesday, July 23, through the official online portal, with sales gathering pace for the opener between Harambee stars and DRC Congo.

The CHAN 2024 tickets are being sold exclusively online via the website chan.mookh.com. The official ticketing platform, was made public by the Kenyan local organizing committee on July 21.

The African bonanza will be hosted for the first time in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania under the “Pamoja umbrella” after the East African neighbors were cleared by the confederations of African football.

 

 

    

Kenyan fans can log onto chan.mookh.com to purchase the tickets with each ticket valid for one match during the month-long tournament.

The tickets are sold exclusively online via the website chan.mookh.com , and fans are advised to avoid purchasing from any other source to ensure authenticity and avoid scams.

The Local organizing committee led by Chairperson Nicholas Musonye have prioritized affordable and pocket friendly prices to boost turnout across all matches.

The sales are categorized into three: Regular (Terraces) – KSh 200 VIP Section – KSh 500 VVIP Section – KSh 1,000

Ugandans and Tanzanians will learn when they can start purchasing tickets in the coming days but their Kenyan counterparts already have access.

Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Committee Chairperson Nicholas Musonye emphasized the importance of early gate openings at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, to ensure timely entry for fans and avoid potential disruptions.

 “This tournament is not just about football. It is a test of our readiness, coordination and unity. Its success will directly influence our ability to host AFCON 2027,” Musonye said during a parliamentary committee briefing on Thursday, July 24 at Bunge towers.

Musonye announced that no tickets will be sold at stadiums on match days, to avoid stampedes and overcrowding. CAF’s security team will oversee final ticket distribution mechanisms. Gates will open at 9 a.m. for all 3 p.m. matches to ensure an orderly flow of fans, he said.

The CHAN opening ceremony and first match will take place in in Dar es Salaam while Nairobi will host the closing ceremony and final match. Matches in Kenya will be staged at Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums while Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam will be the venue in Tanzania. Mandela National Stadium (Namboole) in Kampala, Uganda will host other matches while the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar will host more games.

Stars will open their campaign against DR Congo on August 3 at Kasarani Stadium, before facing Angola and Morocco on August 7 and 10, respectively. The team will then take a one-week break before wrapping up their Group A  fixtures against Zambia on August 17.
