Anti-government demonstrations that ignited across Iran on December 28, 2025, have left a significant trail of property damage in their wake, according to data released in February 2026.
Financial infrastructure appears to have borne the brunt of the unrest, with 1,400 ATMs and 750 banks reported damaged or destroyed as of mid-February.
The impact on transportation and law enforcement has been equally pronounced.
Security forces saw 749 police vehicles targeted, while the public transit network faced the loss of 253 bus stations and 100 city buses.
Even emergency services were not spared, with 30 fire service vehicles and 24 gas stations caught in the fray.
The destruction extended deep into the private and civic sectors. Reports indicate that 800 private vehicles and 700 shops sustained damages, alongside 300 residential homes.
Government-affiliated and religious institutions also saw significant impact; damage was recorded at 414 government centers, 350 mosques, and 89 seminaries.
Furthermore, 120 Basij bases—linked to the state's paramilitary volunteer militia—were included in the estimated breakdown of the fallout.
