South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro has made a surprise offer to adopt the five-month-old child of a well-known Kenyan biker who died in a road accident.
Elvis Kamala, known to his followers as Gustavo Rides or Luhya Kidd, was killed on Sunday, 15 March 2026. The influencer was riding his red Ducati superbike when the collision occurred.
His wife, Diana Mwai, who was riding as a pillion passenger, also died from her injuries in hospital.
The couple leaves behind a five-month-old daughter, who has now become the centre of a national conversation regarding forgiveness and social media conduct.

A Surprising Act of Forgiveness
Following the news of the tragedy, Mr. Osoro took to Facebook to express his condolences and offer support to the grieving family. This move surprised many, as the MP also shared a screenshot of a previous interaction where Gustavo had openly mocked him on the platform X.
The screenshot showed Gustavo reposting a political statement from the MP with a comment suggesting Osoro’s parents had chosen to die because they could not live with a "stupid" son.
Despite this history, the MP insisted that personal differences should not matter in the face of death.
"Whichever the case, however the differences, young people, it is UN-AFRICAN and morally wrong to MOCK anybody over death," Osoro wrote.
The Offer of Adoption
The MP has asked for the family’s contact details to explore how best to support the orphan. He stated that he feels a moral obligation to ensure the child is cared for after losing both parents in a single afternoon.
"I feel obligated to support his family, especially now that... they left a 5-month-old. If need be, I can even adopt the precious angel!!"
Details of the Fatal Accident
The crash happened near the Potter House barrier in the Runda area. Witnesses at the scene reported that a silver Toyota Succeed, commonly known as a Probox, was making a U-turn in the middle of the highway.

Gustavo was reportedly approaching at high speed and was unable to react in time. He rammed into the side of the vehicle and died at the scene. The couple was travelling back to Nairobi after attending the Safari Rally in Naivasha earlier that day.
Community Concerns and Road Safety
The deaths have sparked renewed calls for safety improvements on the Northern Bypass. The stretch of road is frequently cited by the biking community for illegal U-turns and a lack of lane discipline.
Police from Runda Police Station are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. The bodies were taken to the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) mortuary for post-mortem examinations.
