Politician Luqman Ali has declared his bid for the South C ward Member of the Nairobi County Assembly (MCA) seat as the 2027 General Election campaigns kick in.
The youthful politician has been holding meetings with several groups, including youth, women and traders, as he seeks to take over from incumbent Abbas Khalif.
Abbas, who is a first-term MCA, has already declared his interest in the Lang’ata parliamentary seat currently held by Felix Odiwuor Jalang’o.
The youthful leader highlighted his vision for South C residents, which he said will be based on empowering people and building a stronger community.
He elaborated that his vision for South C is simple: empowering the people and building a stronger community, with a focus on youth empowerment through skills programmes, mentorship and real opportunities that help young people create jobs instead of waiting for them.
Luqman says he wants to support small businesses, encourage innovation, and create initiatives that uplift families and strengthen the community.
He added that South C has incredible potential and that, with the right leadership, they can unlock opportunities for the youth, improve community services and ensure every resident feels represented and supported.
“First, I will prioritise security and safety by strengthening community policing, improving street lighting, and working closely with security agencies and residents’ associations to ensure our neighbourhoods are safe for families and businesses,” he said last weekend while launching his campaign.
He added, “Second, I will champion better infrastructure and services. This includes repairing roads, improving drainage systems to prevent flooding, and ensuring reliable waste collection.”
He told his supporters that leadership is about action, not empty talk, declaring that he is ready to address the issues affecting residents and the business community.
“Leadership is about action, not promises. My commitment is to work closely with residents, listen to their needs, and deliver solutions that make a real difference in their lives,” Luqman said.
He is yet to disclose his political party.
