Governor George Natembeya signing appointment letters for new members of the Trans Nzoia public service boardTrans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya recently presided over the swearing-in of new members of the county public service board, urging them to always operate within the law.
Natembeya appointed Joyce Wamalwa as the new chairperson of the board, alongside members Scholastica Nalobile, Luka Naibei, Henry Bunyasi, Dr David Lwangale and Isaac Muturi. The appointments came more than a month after the previous board was dismissed for failing in its mandate.
Speaking during the ceremony in Kitale, Natembeya said the new team brings wide experience in public service.
He emphasised that the board is responsible for staff recruitment, discipline and supporting the county executive, and urged members to work professionally with integrity.
He stressed that the board should prioritise the interests of Trans Nzoia County in recruitment and ensure efficient management of the public service.
The board members were vetted by the County Assembly Labour Committee and later approved. Nakhanu holds a Bachelor of Education degree and nearly 20 years of public service experience.
Nalobile holds a Master’s in Management, Administration and Leadership and a Bachelor of Education. Naibei, a teacher by profession, holds a Master’s in Human Resource Management.
Dr Lwangale has over 18 years of university teaching experience, holding a PhD and Master’s in English and Literature.
Nakhanu pledged to serve the people of Trans Nzoia in line with the law and collaborate with the county administration to streamline public service.
She urged all county employees to maintain professionalism and dedication.
Natembeya added that all staff must understand their roles and serve residents with respect.
