Mvita parliamentary aspirant Shallo has come to the rescue of controversial social media personality Cassypool, settling a Sh500,000 debt he owed comedian and media personality Oga Obinna.

The unexpected move quickly sparked reactions online after Shallo confirmed he had cleared the half-million shilling debt on Cassypool’s behalf, ending a dispute that had dominated social media conversations in recent days.

Shallo Steps In to End the Dispute

The disagreement between Cassypool and Obinna stemmed from a public pledge tied to an Iftar dinner that Cassypool had planned. Cassypool had promised to give Obinna Sh500,000 if President William Ruto failed to attend the event, while Obinna had vowed to give Cassypool the same amount if the President showed up.

However, the situation escalated after Cassypool postponed the Iftar dinner, prompting Obinna to demand payment despite the event not taking place as initially planned.

As the debate intensified online, Shallo stepped in and paid the Sh500,000, effectively settling the matter.

Speaking after clearing the debt, the Mvita aspirant said his intervention was meant to resolve the issue amicably and help maintain positive engagement among young people.

“Cassypool, now you don’t owe me anything. Thank God for blessing you with good friends,” Obinna said after the payment was made.

Backing Coastal Boxing Talent

Beyond resolving the high-profile debt dispute, Shallo also used the moment to highlight his support for young athletes from the Coast region.

The aspiring legislator pledged to sponsor the travel arrangements of Mombasa-based boxer Mbali Mbili, including paying for his flight to Nairobi and covering his accommodation in the capital.

Shallo said the support would enable the fighter to attend upcoming engagements and gain greater exposure within Kenya’s boxing scene.

In addition, the politician promised to support another Mvita-based boxer, Munaswar, as he prepares for an upcoming bout.

According to Shallo, empowering young athletes and creatives is part of his broader plan to uplift youth in the region and provide opportunities for them to showcase their talents beyond the Coast.

He noted that helping emerging athletes could also steer young people away from social challenges such as drug abuse by offering them alternative paths through sports and mentorship.
