Sonko Pledges to Clear Mortuary Bills for Flood Victims

Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has promised to help families affected by recent flooding by clearing mortuary bills and covering burial expenses for the victims.

Sonko made the announcement while criticising the current Johnson Sakaja administration over what he described as a failure to adequately respond to the situation.

“I will clear mortuary bills, I'll pay for their coffins, and I will transport them to their respective places,” Sonko said.

The former governor noted that many affected families may not have the financial capacity to handle the sudden burial costs, especially after losing loved ones during the floods.
