Kenyan television audiences are set to see two new drama series hit their screens this month as pay-tv provider StarTimes expands its programming line-up with fresh telenovela content on its Novela E Plus channel.

The broadcaster has announced the upcoming premieres of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and the third season of Gangs of Manila, both expected to add to the growing list of serialized dramas available to viewers across Kenya.

The first of the two shows, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, will debut on March 16 at 9:40 p.m. The series follows the life of a devoted caregiver navigating personal struggles while looking after his mother, who is living with Alzheimer’s disease. Through its storyline, the drama explores themes of family responsibility, emotional resilience, and the complexities of mental health.

Across Africa, pay-TV providers have increasingly turned to diverse international series and telenovelas as competition intensifies within the television and digital entertainment space. Drama programming, in particular, remains one of the most consistently viewed genres among audiences.

In Kenya, StarTimes has continued to expand its catalogue with a mix of sports coverage, movies, local productions, and international series in a bid to appeal to a wide range of viewers.

The arrival of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and Gangs of Manila Season 3 is expected to further strengthen the Novela E Plus schedule, particularly for fans of character-driven drama and high-stakes storytelling.
