Mwirigi, who works with Madison Life Assurance, has also been named the Top Agent in New Business Champion (Life Insurance Agent), which saw her stand shoulder to shoulder with giants in the insurance industry, giving her young career a major boost.
At the ceremony held on Friday, March 6, Madison also cemented its legacy as among the top insurers in the country after scooping several awards across different categories, while several of its financial advisors were recognised among the best performers in the insurance industry.
Out of the top five agents recognised at the function, three were from Madison Insurance, while six of its agents were among the top 10.

It was also a double win for Madison at the corporate level, as the company was named second runner-up for Company of the Year and its inclusive M-Ratiba product took home the first runner-up prize for Innovation.
The company's M-Ratiba product that targets low-income earners was the first runner-up in the Innovation Category, while Madison Life Assurance was named the second runner-up, Company of the Year.
I am truly honoured and deeply grateful to receive this recognition at the AKI Awards. I would like to sincerely thank AKI for continuously celebrating excellence within our industry, said Mwirigi.
My heartfelt appreciation goes to Madison Life Assurance for the support, mentorship, and enabling environment that allows us as agents to grow and serve our clients better every day.
To my clients, thank you for trusting me with something as important as your financial security and the future of your families. Your trust is the reason I remain passionate about what I do. This award is not just a milestone for me, but a strong motivation to continue serving with integrity, dedication and passion.

The firm's Mratiba product, which is designed for low-income earners, earned first runner-up in the Innovation Category. The micro-insurance product, which enables customers to pay premiums in a flexible manner, is designed to increase insurance coverage in the country, which has remained over the years at about three per cent of Kenya's Gross Domestic Product.
We have won very prestigious awards at the AKI Awards. We had very good agents who have emerged among the best in the industry, and we have a very committed sales force. We are going for more and more awards, said Joseph Gathogo, Head of Ordinary Life and National Sales Manager at Madison Group Kenya.
One of our products was the first runner-up in the Innovation Category and it speaks a lot to the work that we are doing in terms of trying to reach our customers and developing products that are tailored for different market segments.

Mercy Kago, the operations manager at Madison Life Assurance Kenya, said the product treats insurance as a necessity rather than a product for niche customers.
This is an exciting moment as we celebrate the innovation award, a prestigious award that we have won following innovative ways of premium collection. We have been reaching out to customers in the informal sector, seeking financial inclusion for all our customers, she said.
We have been able to reach customers who are otherwise unbanked, and now they are able to access insurance products. Insurance is not just a product for the elite, as it seems everybody can be able to have insurance. You can pay your premiums daily, monthly, weekly or what suits your income.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Githua Ngaruiya, Managing Director Madison, described the recognition as an amazing and proud moment for the company, noting that the achievements reflect the dedication and professionalism of Madison's advisors.

He said the advisors' unwavering commitment to serving customers and protecting what matters most continues to set the standard for excellence in the industry.
The company congratulated all the winners, praising their hard work, resilience and passion that have contributed to the continued growth and success of the organisation.
This year's AKI Awards will be remembered not only for celebrating excellence in the insurance industry but also for the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the event.
The ceremony recognising the industry's top performers in 2025 was held amid a heavy downpour that caused flooding and severe traffic disruptions across the city. Many attendees were forced to walk through flooded areas to access the venue, while several vehicles were stranded due to intense traffic and rising water levels.
