President William Ruto on Monday hosted members of the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) at State House, Nairobi for high-level talks on reforms within the justice sector.

The meeting focused on road safety, traffic enforcement and digitalisation of justice systems.

Speaking during the engagement, President Ruto highlighted recent interactions between his administration and the Judiciary, reiterating the need for closer collaboration to enhance efficiency and integrity within the justice system.

“My administration is committed to respecting court decisions and supporting the Judiciary,” Ruto said.

The President directed the immediate rollout of road safety reforms, including the implementation of an instant fines system within one month and the deployment of road cameras to reduce direct contact between motorists and traffic police.

He further called for the integration of an electronic traffic case management system linking the police, prosecutors, the Judiciary and prisons in a bid to curb corruption and expedite the dispensation of justice.
