
Detectives are investigating an incident in Othoro, Homa Bay County, where a man was found dead in his house after sustaining injuries elsewhere.
The deceased, identified as Hezekia Omanya, 41, was discovered lying motionless in his home with cuts on his left leg. The body was found on February 26, several hours after his death.
Police said those responsible for the attack were unknown, and the body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Investigators said on Friday they were pursuing leads into the murder.
In Kapenguria, West Pokot County, a man was killed by an arrow in a separate incident. The victim, George Kisa, 45, a rider in the area, was attacked by his pillion passenger on the evening of February 25 along Kamatira-Kapenguria road.
The motive was not immediately known. Police recovered the arrow from the victim’s neck and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.
In Tigania, Meru County, Boniface Mutembei, 21, was found murdered near Urru Stadium on February 25 afternoon.
The body, discovered half-naked with injuries on the forehead and both hands, was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigations.
His family said he had left home the previous day and failed to return. Police said the matter is under investigation.
In Myanga, Bungoma County, Maxwell Juma, 25, was found dead in a pool of blood following a suspected stabbing.
Police said the deceased sustained stab wounds to the left collarbone, allegedly inflicted during a confrontation at a night funeral vigil in the area. Investigators recovered a blood-stained jacket believed to belong to one of the suspects.
Two individuals were later arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred on February 27. The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy and other procedures.
In Ishiara, Embu County, a motorcyclist was electrocuted by hanging live wires on February 25. The victim, identified as Josphat Kinyua, 47, was found lying on the roadside near the cables.
Kenya Power officials were notified and attended the scene to carry out repairs.
The family has requested compensation as the body was moved to the mortuary.
Police noted that electrocution cases have been increasing, with many linked to illegal power connections.
