According to a poster shared by the movement, the Nairobi event is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who is associated with the movement, shared the announcement on his X account, accompanying it with the brief message, “Back to base.”
The poster invited supporters to the Nairobi Linda Mwananchi Tour and also featured the movement’s Paybill number, 3033049, and its website, lindamwananchi.com.
The Nairobi event marks another stop in the team's ongoing county engagements, which began in February this year as part of efforts to build a national political presence.
The Linda Mwananchi Tour began its county engagements in February 2026, with Busia and Kitengela among its first stops.
The movement has since held activities in several parts of the country, including Kakamega, Narok, Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Vihiga, Kisumu, Machakos, Thika, Kisii, Taita Taveta, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Homa Bay and Meru.
The planned September rally will also mark a return to Nairobi following an earlier event held in the county in March.
The movement has used its county engagements to interact with residents and discuss issues touching on governance, the economy and challenges affecting ordinary citizens.
Its leaders have also used the tours to promote the movement's political message as they position themselves ahead of the 2027 polls.
The latest Nairobi announcement comes as Linda Mwananchi continues seeking to expand its footprint beyond its previous regional engagements and establish itself as a broader national political platform.
During the recent Meru caravan, Sifuna and other leaders associated with the movement received a warm reception from residents.
Sifuna was gifted maize, cassava, Irish potatoes and green maize during the visit, with the gesture highlighting the agricultural produce associated with the region.
The senator thanked former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangazam allied to the team, for the reception as he joined residents ahead of the rally.
The movement, however, has also encountered challenges as it seeks to formalise its political ambitions.
Its efforts to register a political party name have faced hurdles, adding another dimension to its preparations for the next electoral cycle.
The Nairobi rally is therefore expected to provide another platform for the movement to mobilise supporters in the capital and communicate its political message as it continues its nationwide tour.
For Sifuna and other leaders involved in Linda Mwananchi, the county engagements offer an opportunity to strengthen grassroots networks and maintain contact with supporters ahead of the 2027 political contest.
