Kenyan musician Savara Mudigi has established himself as a consistent voice in the country’s music industry, focusing on cultural authenticity over viral trends.
Born Delvin Mudigi, he first gained recognition as a founding member of the Afro-pop band Sauti Sol. The group, formed in 2005, has been influential in shaping Kenyan and East African music.
In a recent interview with Mpasho, Savara highlighted the shift in the music industry towards quick fame. “Everyone is now chasing virality,” he said.
He added that many artists focus on trends rather than substance, often overlooking the deeper cultural aspects of music. For Savara, music is more than sound; it is a way to share Kenyan stories and identity with the world.
