OCS Muthetheni police station Felix Nkonge 



Officer Commanding Muthetheni Police Station in Mwala, Machakos County, Chief Inspector Felix Nkonge, is dead.

Nkonge died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi City County.

Confirming the officer’s death, Mwala Sub-county Police Commander Fredrick Suter said he died at the facility where he had been receiving treatment.

Suter said Nkonge had been battling illness for a long time.

Nkonge previously served in the same position at Masii Police Station within Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County, before he was transferred to Muthetheni Police Station, where he worked until his demise.

Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka is among the leaders who have sent condolence messages to the deceased’s family, relatives and the National Police Service following the officer’s death.

“I have learnt with shock and disbelief of the passing of Chief Inspector Felix Nkonge, OCS Muthetheni Police Station. Felix was a dedicated officer who served with dignity and top-notch professionalism. To his family, colleagues and friends, I extend my condolences. Rest in peace,” Musyoka posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

Locals also joined in sending condolences to the deceased’s family and relatives.

They mourned him as a hard-working and dedicated officer who demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout his service to the community.

During his service at Masii Police Station, Nkonge, according to multiple sources who spoke to the Star, worked tirelessly to uphold law and order, thereby earning the respect and admiration of many in society.

“He was a firm and principled police officer who believed in discipline and professionalism in the line of duty. Beyond his official responsibilities, Nkonge actively participated in community affairs and charity work, fostering cooperation between the Kenya Police Service and members of the public.”

Some of the deceased’s colleagues told the Star that he was a principled officer who understood his work, owing to the experience he had gained in the service
