Rights activist Mugambi Kiai is dead

Human rights activist Mugambi Kiai is dead.

Mugambi, who is the brother of lawyer and activist Maina Kiai, died after struggles with kidney failure.

His sister Wambui Kiai told the Star he died on Monday morning.

His battle with kidney failure saw him undergo a transplant in March last year.

Until his death, Mugambi was the regional director of Article 19.
