Recent opinion polls conducted by research firm Politrack Africa indicate that Letoo leads the field among surveyed voters. The poll, whose findings were published on 18 February 2026, placed him at 36.6 per cent support.

Kilgoris Constituency is located in Narok County and includes Kilgoris town, an urban Centre with a population estimated at over 70,000 residents according to recent census data.
Letoo was born and raised in the area and has maintained active engagement with community initiatives over the years.

Public Activities and Community Engagement
Throughout 2025 and early 2026, Letoo has increased his presence in Kilgoris and the surrounding areas. On 1 January 2026, he hosted a New Year’s event at his residence in Enooretet, bringing together young people from different Maasai age groups. During the gathering, he spoke about the importance of education and community cohesion.
Residents and local leaders have also reported seeing him at cultural ceremonies, development meetings and youth mentorship forums. These activities have drawn attention from political observers monitoring early movements ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Structures first,” Letoo previously said in a separate public discussion on leadership and governance, reflecting his focus on institutional development.
Journalism Career and Public Profile
Letoo is a senior political reporter and analyst at Royal Media Services, specializing in political coverage and governance reporting. Over the years, he has covered national elections, parliamentary proceedings and major policy debates.
In a 2024 interview, Letoo stated that if he were to seek elective office, it would likely be within Kilgoris or the wider Narok region rather than at the national level.

Political Landscape in Kilgoris
If he formally declares his candidature, Letoo would face Sunkuli, who was elected in the 2022 General Election and has previously served multiple terms in Parliament. Sunkuli has also held Cabinet-level positions in past administrations.
As of February 2026, Letoo has not made an official declaration or announced affiliation with a political party.
Media Freedom Context
In December 2025, the Media Council of Kenya issued a statement condemning remarks by a senior political figure that mentioned Letoo by name. The council said public attacks on journalists raise concerns about safety and press freedom as the country approaches the next election cycle.
