The event on Friday evening drew a distinguished audience of jurists, senior counsel, members of the bench and bar, government leaders, and other prominent figures from Kenya’s legal and civic spheres. 
Adding an extra layer of significance to the evening was the presence of Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa’s first elected female president.

"I was especially honoured to have as Chief Guest Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa’s first elected female president, whose presence elevated the evening beyond words," she stated.

"Her grace, wisdom, and trailblazing leadership continue to inspire generations across our continent."

CJ Koome shared reflections on her life journey, beginning with her upbringing in a rural village and her path through Kenya’s education system to the pinnacle of the judiciary.

She recounted the trials, triumphs, and defining moments that shaped her career and underscored the values of justice, integrity, and perseverance.

The Chief Justice emphasised that leadership is never a solitary journey, highlighting the role of community, mentorship, and collective effort in achieving success.

"The autobiography captures not only the personal narrative of CJ Koome but also offers insights into the evolution of Kenya’s legal system and the ongoing challenges and opportunities within the country’s judiciary," she said.

She said the presence of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at the event highlighted the increasing influence and leadership of African women.
"With Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in attendance, the event also served as a reminder of the growing influence of African women in leadership roles and the importance of mentorship and solidarity among women leaders," she said.
The evening closed on a note of hope and legacy, celebrating not only CJ Koome’s personal story but the ideals of justice, resilience, and nation-building that her life embodies.
Koome noted that the autobiography is now available to the public and stands as both a record of her remarkable journey.
"It is a source of inspiration for future generations of legal practitioners, leaders, and citizens committed to justice and equality," she concluded.
