On Sunday, February 15th, elegance met intention at The Social House Nairobi as Family Wine House, in collaboration with Skinsol, hosted a Galentines Brunch that redefined what it means to celebrate friendship, femininity, and fine living.
From the moment guests stepped into the hotel's intimate spaces, it was clear: this was not just another brunch — it was an experience.
The theme, “A Touch of Burgundy,” was interpreted flawlessly. Flowing dresses, tailored shirts, bold lipsticks, and statement heels in rich wine hues created a visually cohesive, undeniably chic atmosphere. The ladies (and gents) understood the assignment.

Wine, Dine & Intentional Living
At the heart of the afternoon was a guided wine tasting session courtesy of Family Wine House, a brand known for its curated range of South African wines crafted by award-winning winemakers.
The tasting was led by Rahab Mwangi, Founder of Women Who Wine, and it was not just about swirling and sipping — it was about understanding notes, appreciating craftsmanship, and embracing intentional celebrations.
Each glass told a story. From crisp whites to bold reds, guests explored flavors layered with heritage and artistry. Complementing the wines were delicious gourmet bites that elevated the entire sensory experience — a perfect pairing that encouraged lingering conversations and new connections.
And as if that wasn’t indulgent enough, every attendee walked away with a free bottle of wine, ensuring the celebration extended beyond the afternoon.

Beauty Meets Wellness
Adding a transformative layer to the brunch was SkinSol Aesthetics Clinic, an award-winning aesthetics clinic in Africa. Known for its personalized skincare and beauty treatments, Skinsol brought more than products — they brought expertise.
On the ground was a Medical Aesthetician offering personalized skin consultations, guiding guests toward discovering the perfect treatment plans for their glow journeys. It was refreshing to see beauty approached from a holistic, professional standpoint — education meeting empowerment.
Guests also received a beautifully curated gift box featuring skincare samples, a sheet mask, and a 15% off gift voucher from Skinsol. It was thoughtful, practical, and perfectly aligned with the afternoon’s theme of self-care and indulgence.

A Room of Power & Influence
The brunch attracted a vibrant mix of personalities across media, business and digital spaces. Among those present were media personality and content creator Maureen Waititu, Citizen TV’s Dennis Otieno, Skinsol founder and CEO Domiana, Family Wine House founder Perpetual Kendi, and Wowzi president and co-founder Mike Otieno, among others.
Beyond the aesthetics and indulgence, the brunch organically transformed into a powerful networking session. Conversations flowed as smoothly as the wine — collaborations were discussed, ideas exchanged, and genuine connections formed. It was sisterhood with strategy and elegance with intention.

A Personal Touch That Stood Out
What truly set the event apart was the personal follow-up. After the brunch, Perpetual Kendi, the founder of Family Wine House, shared heartfelt notes with attendees. Mine read:
“Good Afternoon, Dear,
Thank you so much for being part of yesterday's brunch. I am truly grateful for your presence and support — it meant more than you know.
It would be my pleasure to add you to the Family Wine House Club, where you'll receive exclusive invitations to our private gatherings and curated experiences. We would also love to celebrate your special moments with you — especially your birthday — with a beautiful bottle from Family Wine House, thoughtfully selected just for you.
With appreciation and warmth,
Xoxo Kendi.”
In a world where events often end when the lights go off, this thoughtful gesture reinforced what Family Wine House stands for: community, celebration and meaningful relationships.

More Than Just a Brunch
The Galentines Brunch was spectacular to the core — a seamless blend of wine culture, wellness, fashion and fellowship.
It reminded us that intentional celebrations matter. That luxury can be warm and inclusive. That networking can feel natural and that sometimes, all it takes is a touch of burgundy to set the tone for unforgettable memories.
If this is how Family Wine House and Skinsol choose to celebrate women and community, then consider this a toast to many more beautifullycurated experiences ahead.
