Electricity consumption by EVs reached 8.43 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2025, up from 2.92 million kWh in 2024. This represents a 188 per cent increase in e-mobility electricity use within a year.

Revenue from EV charging also rose substantially to Sh190.8 million in 2025, compared to Sh64.8 million in 2024.

The growth added Sh125.95 million in additional revenue, reflecting increased uptake of electric mobility solutions across the country.

Since the introduction of the e-mobility tariff in March 2023, 205 customers have been onboarded. As of 2025, Kenya had cumulatively registered over 35,000 electric vehicles.
