A casual visit to the State House has turned into a life-changing opportunity for two of Kenya’s most dedicated football supporters.

President William Ruto has pledged to sponsor all-expenses-paid trips to the United Kingdom for TikTok sensation Kevin Masagara and content creator Useful Idioty.

The announcement came after Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, better known as Jalang’o, shared the story of Masagara’s rise to fame with the President. Jalang’o had already been planning to send Masagara to see Manchester United, but the President decided to expand the gesture.

A Rivalry Sparked at State House

During the meeting, the President—a self-professed Arsenal supporter—engaged in a friendly debate about the two clubs.

When Jalang’o mentioned the plan for Masagara, the President suggested that an Arsenal fan should also be included in the trip.

He specifically named Useful Idioty as the representative for the North London club.

"Let us also take another Arsenal fan... so that Masagara enters Old Trafford and [Useful] Idioty enters the Emirates," the President stated.

Business Class and Big Ambitions

The sponsorship is set to be a premium experience. The President promised to provide business-class tickets and cover all accommodation costs for both fans.

The trip is not just for leisure. The President noted that the fans should gain a first-hand look at world-class football infrastructure.

This experience is intended to inspire Kenya's own sports development, particularly the Talanta Sports City project.

From TikTok to the Theatre of Dreams

Kevin Masagara has become a household name in Kenya through his passionate football commentary. He recently hit a major milestone, reaching one million followers on TikTok.

Known for his high-energy reactions while wearing the iconic red Manchester United kit, Masagara is widely seen as the club’s "number one" fan in the country.

Despite his massive online presence, Masagara has never watched a live match in England. Jalang’o initially stepped in to reward his consistency and hard work.

"Kevin Masagara has never been to Old Trafford. He's never watched Manchester United play live. Now this time we want to take Kevin Masagara to Manchester United." — Phelix Odiwuor.

Next Steps for the Superfans

The logistical process is already underway. Jalang’o had previously established a digital platform called "Masagara to Manchester" to allow followers to track the journey. The MP will continue to assist with passport applications and the visa process.

The itinerary is expected to include more than just match days. Plans are in place for fans to visit the club's museums and tour famous landmarks in Manchester and London.

For Masagara and Useful Idioty, a digital hobby has officially turned into a national honour.
