The runway is returning to Nairobi this March. Tribal Chic is preparing for its 15th annual edition at Tribe Hotel. This milestone makes it the longest-running fashion show in East Africa.

The event is scheduled for March 7th, 2026. It has grown from a local showcase into a significant cultural movement. The show now serves as a platform for African design, innovation, and international dialogue.

“Today, as the region’s longest-running fashion show, we celebrate not just longevity, but impact, the designers nurtured, the stories told, and the global connections forged.” — Shamim Ehsani, Director of Tribe Hotels Group.

The Four Elements

This year’s theme is “The Four Elements”. The show draws inspiration from Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

The 2026 edition aims to present fashion as a living force. Designers will interpret these elements through their collections. For example, the brand Kisero uses locally sourced leather to represent Earth, while fluid silhouettes reflect Water.

Nashipai will use texture and movement to honour the elements through intentional design.

A Continental and Global Lineup

The anniversary will feature a diverse range of designers from across the continent and beyond. The lineup includes:

• Kenya: KikoRomeo, Angelsmile, Kisero, and AfroWema.

• Nigeria: 1407 Style, an androgynous brand.

• International Collaboration: The Barbados Embassy is sponsoring designer J.Angelique, bringing Caribbean flair to the runway.

Other featured brands include Nashipai, Lola, Soul Tonic, Mopepe, Ikwetta, Kazuri, and Noor Tribe.
