A global survey visualised by Visual Capitalist shows wide variation in political polarisation across 28 countries.
Some nations exhibit stark public divisions while others report lower levels of societal splits.
According to the data, Argentina, Colombia, the United States, South Africa, Spain and Sweden rank among the most politically polarised countries.
In these nations, large shares of respondents expressed entrenched disagreements on key societal issues and low trust in institutions — a combination that places them in the “severely polarised” category.
For example, Argentina stood out with one of the lowest levels of trust in government.
