A standard television interview on Mutongoi TV’s Tuathimwe Show recently took a surprising turn when a guest fell from her seat mid-broadcast.
The 36-second footage has since become a viral sensation after being shared on Facebook by Switmaggy Entertainment.
The Moment of the Slip
The guest was seated in a high-set, black upholstered chair against the show's digital backdrop. She was dressed in a vibrant gold and yellow traditional lace gown. As the interview progressed, she shifted her weight while holding her mobile phone.
Suddenly, the sleek base of the high chair appeared to lose its grip on the polished studio floor. In a split second, her expression changed from one of calm engagement to pure shock as she began to slide backward.
She tumbled completely off the chair, landing on the floor in a flurry of gold lace. Despite the impact, she remarkably managed to keep hold of her phone throughout the descent.

A Frantic Rescue
The studio atmosphere changed instantly from professional to frantic. The host, wearing a flowing blue gown, jumped up in alarm to assist her guest. Simultaneously, a male crew member wearing a red T-shirt rushed onto the set to stabilise the furniture and prevent further accidents.
The guest appeared visibly overwhelmed as she was helped back to her feet. She briefly covered her face in embarrassment but soon began laughing at the absurdity of the tumble.
After a quick check of her dress to compose herself, she managed a wide smile for the cameras, turning the mishap into a shared lighthearted moment.
Viewers Weigh In
Once the clip hit social media, the comment section erupted with theories and sympathies. Many viewers pointed towards the guest's attire and the studio's choice of furniture as contributing factors.
Peshience Pessy commented on the "disadvantages of heels," while Zilan Molly suggested that the "inner material of the dress" was too slippery against the chair.

Others focused on the technical side of the production. Carolyne Wambui asked, "Station gani hii surely... Camera man, you should have seen this coming the moment she was swinging."
"Hii ni station gani hata hawatoi cameras immediately... it seems her shoes got stuck kwa hio kachuma,” Jacque Maingi commented.
Lighthearted Reactions
Some reactions were more humorous, touching on local superstitions and the danger of the furniture. Poline Kedogo joked that "the village's witches were about to succeed, but luckily she rose again."
Betty Young added that those laughing might be in trouble with a higher power, writing in Swahili that the devil is calling those who found it funny.
Despite the humour, some viewers offered genuine concern. Catherine Beulah noted it was "good to caution them that chair is dangerous," while Difence Nzani observed that "not all guests fit well in these seats."
The original poster of the video, Switmaggy Entertainment, admitted to feeling sorry for the guest but confessed to laughing at the incident. They noted that the unpredictability of such high seats is exactly why they personally avoid them.
“As much as I felt sorry for my friend Christine Mwenda, I found myself laughing!! Pole kainya!! The reason I never prefer those seats!” Switmaggy Entertainment captioned the video.
