The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has announced multiple job openings as it moves to recruit staff across its regional offices.
In a notice, the Board said it is seeking qualified candidates for several positions under permanent and pensionable terms of service.
The recruitment targets professionals across regulatory, legal, finance, research, and administrative functions.
The Board, described in the notice as “the National Medicines Regulatory Authority of Kenya,” stated that it was established under Section 3 of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Cap 244 of the Laws of Kenya.
It added that it is mandated to “protect and promote public health by regulating the pharmacy profession and ensuring access to quality, safe and efficacious health products and technologies (HPTs).”
According to the announcement, the Board is looking to fill 14 positions.
The largest intake is for Regulatory Officers, with six vacancies under Job Grade PPB 6.
Other advertised roles include Senior Accountant (PPB 5), Legal Officer (PPB 6), Human Resource Officer (PPB 6), Quality Management System Officer (PPB 6), Research & Development Officer (PPB 6), Corporate Communication Officer (PPB 6), Administrative Officer (PPB 6), Receptionist (PPB 7), Assistant Customer Care Officer (PPB 8), Assistant Records Officer (PPB 8), Assistant Administrative Officer (PPB 8), Assistant Office Administrators, Regional Offices (PPB 8), and Security Officer (PPB 6).
Five vacancies have been set aside for Assistant Office Administrators in regional offices, making it the second-largest category in the recruitment drive.
The Board directed applicants to submit their applications online.
“Interested and qualified candidates should visit PPB website (https://web.pharmacyboardkenya.org/careers/) for more details and the application process,” the notice reads.
It also provided a firm deadline for submissions. “Applications should reach the Board on or before March 3, 2026 at 11.59 pm, EAT.”
In an important clarification, the Board cautioned job seekers against fraudulent practices.
“PPB does not charge any fee in the recruitment process,” the notice stated.
The Board further emphasised its commitment to fair hiring practices. It said it is “an equal opportunity employer,” adding that “Persons with disabilities, female candidates, marginalised and minority groups are encouraged to apply.”
Applicants were also reminded of professional requirements tied to the advertised roles. “Applicants must be registered with their relevant Professional body and possess valid practicing license where applicable,” the notice said.
The Board warned against canvassing, noting that “Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.”
In addition, candidates were instructed to comply with constitutional provisions. “Applicants must comply with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.”
The recruitment comes as the Board continues to execute its regulatory mandate in the health sector. The vacancies span technical and support roles, reflecting the institution’s broad oversight responsibilities.
