“I started supporting United back in 2008 after winning the Premier League,” he said.“ As a true football fan, you have to die with your team. You don’t move from one team to another because of losing or winning.”
Manchester United, founded in 1878 as Newton Heath before being renamed in 1902, has won a record 20 English league titles. The club enjoys a large following in Kenya and across Africa.
“When you love something, love it with passion. For me, Manchester United is my everything. I support it whether we lose or we win,” Masagara added.

Praise for Carrick and Bruno Fernandes
Masagara expressed confidence in the club’s current technical direction, describing Michael Carrick as a good coach with strong tactical formations. Carrick, a former United midfielder, previously served within the club’s coaching staff after retiring from professional football in 2018.
He named Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes as his favourite player.
“Bruno is the father of assists,” he said.

Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting CP in January 2020 and has since played a central role in the team’s midfield, contributing goals and assists in domestic and European competitions. Masagara described victories over Arsenal as among the club’s most significant achievements.
Dream Trip to Manchester
Masagara is set to travel to the United Kingdom in May 2026 to watch Manchester United play Liverpool on 2 May, one of English football’s biggest rivalries. He predicted a 3–1 win for United.
He described the trip as a dream come true and expressed gratitude to Kenyan legislator and media personality Jalang’o (MP Jalas) for facilitating the opportunity.
“It’s a dream come true. I will be very happy to meet Bruno and Carrick,” he said.

Football and Music Background
Masagara played football during his high school years but said injury concerns prevented him from pursuing the sport further.
“When you get injured, particularly in Kenya, you don’t get support. You tend to be alone during injury time,” he said.
In 2019, he ventured into music under the name “Masagara Music”, a stage name he continues to use.
