Paint manufacturers are increasingly using rewards and short-term promotions to stimulate sales as competition intensifies across Kenya’s construction and finishing sector.

Kansai Plascon Kenya is the latest firm to adopt the strategy, rolling out its 2026 Rangi Ya Chapaa promotion that raises instant cash rewards for painters and contractors to Sh300 per qualifying paint tin, up from Sh200 previously.

The three-month campaign runs from January 1 to March 31, 2026. The three-month promotion, which runs from January 1 to March 31, 2026, targets painters, fundis, and contractors nationwide and is designed to provide immediate cash incentives linked directly to product purchases.

Under the scheme, selected Kansai Plascon paint tins contain scratch cards that can be redeemed instantly via M-Pesa. Each qualifying purchase gives the buyer a chance to receive the Sh300 mobile cash payout, with no limits on the number of entries.

Kansai Plascon Kenya managing director Kota Enami said the increase in the reward reflects a focus on practical incentives for workers in the construction and finishing trades.

“The promotion is meant to deliver immediate value to painters and contractors who rely on our products in their daily work,” Enami said.

Marketing manager Kunal Biswas said the company had retained the simple structure of the promotion to ensure ease of participation.

“The process remains straightforward: buy a tin, scratch and redeem instantly. The higher payout strengthens the incentive while maintaining transparency,” he said.

The promotion is available countrywide on selected Kansai Plascon products during the promotional period.

Kansai Plascon Kenya is part of the Kansai Paint Group and manufactures decorative and industrial paints for residential, commercial and industrial use in the Kenyan market.
