Media personality Oga Obinna recently brought together a panel of football analysts for a high-stakes betting discussion, following a public call-out on social media.
Obinna had invited his followers to help him analyse the weekend’s football fixtures as he prepared to place a wager of one million shillings, with a projected return of about 1.6 million shillings.
From the responses, three individuals were selected and invited for an in-person meeting at Samaki Samaki restaurant, where the analysis was conducted live.
The Analysis Panel
The session brought together analysts identified as Deno Letterson, Jose Kakunga, and GMO, also known as Jchuki.
They were later joined by a fourth participant named James, described by the group as a “gem” from the Elicham community in Baringo.

Obinna explained that the meeting was meant to be practical and immediate, noting that he planned to transfer the betting funds directly from his bank once the final decisions were made.
"Unajua hutaki kuwa advocate twice... mimi nikiwekelea nawekelea na pesa ile yenyewe si ati naitaka saa hii," he said.

Saturday Fixtures Set the Tone
The panel began with Saturday’s matches, focusing first on Manchester City versus Wolves.
GMO led the analysis, predicting a straightforward win for Manchester City and referring to the pick as a “kichwa,” meaning a direct outcome.
Although Obinna initially suggested moving quickly to Sunday’s fixtures, the analysts emphasized that Saturday’s results were important in shaping confidence ahead of the more anticipated games.
Sunday’s Focus: Arsenal vs Manchester United
The discussion then shifted to the Sunday fixture between Arsenal and Manchester United. Despite several members of the group identifying as Manchester United supporters, the analysis leaned toward an Arsenal win.
The panel highlighted Arsenal’s strong home form and recent disciplined performances in the UEFA Champions League as influencing factors.
Statistics cited during the discussion showed that Manchester United’s last notable win against Arsenal came in 2023, with subsequent meetings ending in draws or defeats.
Analysts suggested that the most recent draw would increase Arsenal’s motivation to secure a win.

Logic Over Loyalty
Throughout the session, Obinna consistently reminded the panel to separate personal fandom from analytical judgment. He stressed the need to “piga hesabu vizuri,” or calculate carefully, given the amount of money at stake.
The group agreed that betting decisions required an investment-focused mindset rather than emotional attachment to teams.
Obinna closed the session by confirming the 7:30 PM kickoff time for the Arsenal match before proceeding with the live betting process.
