Comedian 2Mbil has said that drunkenness cannot be used as an excuse for harassment, speaking in an exclusive phone interview with journalist Gabriel Sironka fromMpasho.
He commented on the incident involving content creator Marion Naipei, which led to public criticism and an apology.
According to 2mbili, what happened in Naipei’s case was a matter of personality and character.
“These were two people who know each other,” he said, emphasising that the situation reflected individual behaviour rather than alcohol.

The Naipei Interview
2mbili explained that the video with Naipei was unplanned.

“We just met, and the camera was rolling,” he said, adding that no content was staged or scripted.
He noted that because the interview was spontaneous, it captured Naipei’s natural character.
“This interview gave a full character of her because it was original,” he said.

Unlike other videos where people may cry or act differently on camera, Naipei did not cry during the interaction.

Mistakes and Apology
Reflecting on the controversy, 2mbili admitted that the interview had several mistakes.

“There were a lot of mistakes, and mistakes do happen,” he said, acknowledging the errors that led to backlash. 2Mbili added that 'you can only advice children " on the view that maybe someone should not follow the same way
After the video circulated, 2mbili was forced to issue an apology to Naipei, which he described as necessary.

He emphasised that accountability remains important, regardless of whether the interaction was spontaneous or personal.

Responsibility and Boundaries
2mbili stressed that knowing someone does not remove the need for respect.

He reiterated that drunkenness is not a justification for misconduct and that people must take responsibility for their actions.

The incident has reignited discussions about consent, boundaries, and personal accountability in Kenya’s digital content scene.

2mbili’s comments, made during the Mpasho interview, underline the importance of recognising character and personal responsibility in interactions, especially when recordings are involved.
