Cybersecurity continues to be a major concern for businesses worldwide. A Statista survey conducted between August 28 and October 1, 2025, highlights the most common threats faced by companies.

Phishing, vishing, and smishing attacks top the list at 62%, demonstrating how attackers exploit human vulnerability through emails, phone calls, or messages.

Invoice or payment fraud affects 37% of businesses, while identity theft impacts 32%, revealing persistent financial and reputational risks.

Internal threats also remain significant. About 20% of respondents report risks from employee-led fraud, and scams involving impersonation or romance fraud account for 17%.

Emerging areas like investment or cryptocurrency fraud also register at 17%, reflecting businesses’ growing exposure to digital finance.

The findings highlight the need for robust cybersecurity measures, employee awareness programs, and verification processes to mitigate these threats.

Companies must adopt proactive strategies to protect sensitive data, prevent financial losses, and maintain stakeholder trust in an increasingly digital economy.
