German Minister of Foreign Affairs Johann Wadephul arrives to JKIA on January 21, 2026/FOREIGN AFFAIRS/X

Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Johann Wadephul, has arrived in Kenya for a two-day official visit. 

Accompanied by a business delegation, Wadephul is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and pay a courtesy call on President William Ruto.

The visit aims to deepen Kenya-Germany cooperation across political, economic and development priorities.

Discussions will focus on labour mobility, climate change and adaptation, renewable energy, technology transfer, regional peace and security and multilateral engagement.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the German minister was received by Kenya’s Ambassador to Germany Stella Mokaya Orina, and Deputy Director-General for Europe and Commonwealth Affairs Judy Njau.

The visit highlights the growing bilateral partnership between Kenya and Germany, anchored in shared values, mutual interests, and opportunities for increased investment and sustainable development.
