Their year began with a goalless draw against Kenya Police on January 9.
That frustration deepened last Friday when KCB were handed a 2-0 reality check by Nairobi United, with Duncan Omala and Ovella Ochieng pulling the strings.
Those setbacks followed a sobering end to 2025, when KCB were thumped 3-1 by Shabana.
Kelvin Omondi, Humphrey Obina and Ezekiah Omuri were on target for the Glamour Boys, while Kelvin Etemesi grabbed a late consolation for the Bankers.
That defeat snapped a seven-match unbeaten league run for KCB and opened the door to a disappointing run of results that Ogai is keen to arrest.
The tactician has been candid about where the rot lies, pointing to a lack of sharpness in front of goal as the team’s biggest undoing.
“Our biggest undoing and what we need to work on is scoring more goals,” Ogai admitted.
He also hinted at reinforcements during the January transfer window, revealing that KCB could dip into the market in search of attacking firepower.
“Looking at our forward line, it’s an area we need to improve,” he said.
Ogai cited injuries and a dip in form as key factors behind the blunt edge up front.
“Boniface Omondi is still out injured, and December Kisakah has also dropped in form from his lethal self in the early days of the league,” he explained.
“So we will have a consultative meeting and see where we need to improve and soon you may see new faces.”
Despite the loss to Nairobi United, Ogai drew positives from the performance, insisting the scoreline flattered the opposition.
“Generally, we played well, but you cannot say it was good because we did not win,” he reflected.
He felt KCB had the upper hand early on and should have capitalised on their dominance.
“We dominated the game from the first half and we had a chance to put the game to rest early on,” he added.
Posta Rangers, meanwhile, arrive at Kasarani Annexe also seeking a return to winning ways.
The mailmen are winless in their last four league outings, with their most recent assignment ending in a 1-1 draw against Kariobangi Sharks.
Last season’s meetings between the two sides produced plenty of sparks, with each team claiming victory.
KCB stormed to a commanding 3-0 win in the first leg, before Posta ground out a narrow 2-1 success in the reverse fixture.
