The Royal Danish Embassy in Nairobi has announced a vacancy for a Visa Officer, opening a recruitment process expected to attract interest from qualified applicants across the region.
The position is permanent and based at the Embassy’s premises in Runda, but is restricted to EU and Schengen nationals only.
According to the announcement issued on Wednesday, the successful candidate will work full-time, with a schedule of 37 hours per week.
“We are looking for a new Visa Officer, EU or Schengen national, for the Embassy in Nairobi,” the statement read in part.
“You will work with Schengen visa case processing in a dynamic, multicultural team and gain experience in an international setting.”
The Embassy said all applications must be submitted exclusively through FUZU, an online recruitment platform, and no other application channels will be accepted.
Applicants are required to submit a one-page CV and a cover letter. The deadline for applications is 29 January 2026.
The vacancy signals the Embassy’s intention to strengthen its consular team at a time when visa services remain a core component of diplomatic missions’ daily operations.
Nairobi continues to serve as a regional hub, hosting one of Denmark’s most active missions in East Africa, with visa processing forming a central part of its consular work.
By channelling the recruitment process exclusively through FUZU, the Embassy underscored its commitment to a transparent and streamlined hiring process.
FUZU has grown into one of East Africa’s most widely used job platforms, offering structured recruitment processes for both employers and job seekers.
Visa officers play a critical role in assessing applications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating legitimate travel for tourism, business, study, and official purposes.
For candidates who meet the nationality requirements and are seeking a long-term role within a diplomatic environment, the vacancy presents a notable career opportunity.
The Royal Danish Embassy in Nairobi serves as a key link between Denmark, Kenya, and the wider East African region.
Permanent consular positions within embassies are typically competitive and highly sought after, particularly as they offer the opportunity to work closely with diplomatic staff and contribute to a mission’s daily operations.
As the application deadline approaches, eligible EU and Schengen nationals are encouraged to prepare their submissions early and ensure they meet all the requirements outlined in the announcement.
With a clear timeline and a streamlined application process, the Embassy aims to fill the position efficiently and transparently.
