Lydia Wanjiru has clarified her position on relationships and social media, stating that she will not engage in online dating.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Wanjiru explained that her romantic life will remain entirely private and separate from her digital presence. She emphasized that she will not parade any future relationship on public platforms.
"I will never do online dating," Wanjiru said, highlighting that she prefers to keep her personal life offline. She acknowledged that her stance might reflect her own experiences, but she remained firm in her decision to avoid sharing intimate aspects of her life on social media.
No Relationship Hints
Wanjiru’s approach to privacy extends beyond formal announcements. She stated that she will not post subtle hints that suggest the presence of a partner.
"I will not post pictures of someone’s hand, or the back of their head," she said, referring to the common practice among public figures to indicate a relationship without revealing a partner’s identity.

She also noted that even holding hands, which is often used as a discreet signal, is something she will not share online.
The singer stressed that she does not want to provide material for public speculation. Her Instagram Stories made it clear that her decision is aimed at avoiding any interpretation or assumptions about her personal relationships.

Avoiding Public Scrutiny
A key reason behind Wanjiru’s stance is her desire to avoid what she described as the public jury.
She expressed a strong aversion to having her personal life scrutinized by followers who might judge the compatibility of her and a potential partner.
Wanjiru explained that the frequency or absence of social media posts often leads to speculation. "If you stop posting about your partner, people will assume you are not okay," she said.
She noted that observers might even try to investigate the identity of someone she is dating. By keeping her relationships offline, she aims to prevent this type of external interference and constant analysis.

Identity Independent of Relationships
Wanjiru also spoke about her desire to maintain an individual identity separate from romantic associations.
She stated that she prefers to be recognized for her own actions and words rather than being linked to someone else.
"I want people to know me for the things I have said, things I have done myself as Lydia," she said. Her Instagram Stories reflected a commitment to personal accountability and a public image built on her own character rather than her relationships.
